Want to enjoy Hot Cocoa while also looking out for your #GoodGut?
As the holiday season approaches and the weather starts to cool down, Hot Coco is our go-to drink for the season! This holiday season we want you to make HOT COCO with your family and friends, but we want you to try our recipe which replaces cow's milk with coconut milk! You can also substitute the coconut milk with your favorite unsweetened plant milk. Try to trick your non-plant based friends and family to see if they will notice, OR just share this great tasting recipe with nothing to hide. 👍🏻
This holiday beverage is non-dairy, is rich in minerals, and has no added sugar! It also has natural caffeine and there is a decreased risk of disease when consuming this as opposed to traditional hot chocolate.
Recipe: Holiday Hot Coco-Nut
Ingredients (Makes 5 Servings):
3 Tbsp raw cacao powder
3 Tbsp carob powder (can use 6 tbsp and leave out the cacao if you have acid reflux)
1.5 tsp of vanilla extract
3 cans of coconut milk (OR 40 oz unsweetened plant milk)
5 pitted medjool dates
Directions:
Blend all ingredients together in a food processor or blender until smooth.
Transfer to a sauce pan and simmer on low heat.
Serve hot with a sprinkle of pumpkin spice or cinnamon.
